its a very entertaining game, way too much grinding, age doesnt have that much of a impact on experience and leveling-training system consumes a lot of time, buts its a amazing digimon game overall keep it up the effort!
This game is great and has great aesthetics but I think there's still room for improvement, so here's my 2c.
It seems that there's no dedicated area to get beast digimon experience, the closest to that is the ice one but its divided with aqua which already has 3 areas going for it.
Lots of digimon to recruit lack any sort of info on what the criteria to recruit them is. Now I know this is reminiscent of the DW games but that's not really one of their strong points.
Kill requirements for U+ evolution seem a bit high. 7-10k kills? I think a player would need to get well over 100hs of grinding for that.
There's no use for tamer points after lvl 75ish.
Equipment after champion level doesn't seem to drop ever.
Age seems irrelevant. I can get some megas within 3 hours so instead of using the same mon for several days I change it when I get bored, hence I still haven't had a digimon die yet, also the tamer skills related to that never become relevant.
Suggestion: Data from digimon is very easy to obtain with the tamer skills unlocked so the box starts to get bloated and there's really no use for so many mons maybe add a chance to drop something like attribute exp?
The sound balance, especially for starting combat is pretty loud. Even lowering the volume on Sound Mixer below 10 makes it more of a 'normal' level. Would love future options of something between ambient and combat sound mixing.
If you're still confused, I just did. Here's the steps I had to take:
-Free Server City from the super strong MetalGreymon (I had to get a mega) -Recruit Xiquemon to City -Complete every challenge -Recruit Publimon in Sewer Road -Help Medicmon in Drive Savannah (he needs a rainbow soup, which takes a rainbow trout, which you get with a crayfish lure) -Cure Minomon and Kudamon -Battle Paildramon
how to recruit Meramon, Craftmon, and Gogmamon? like, seriously, people keep saying to clear fire mastery 1 and 2, I already beat all fire mastery and Meramon still has the same dialogue...the requirements are so vague it pisses me off.
Loving it so far! You aren't highway robbed to simply travel anymore, you can have way, waaaay more Digimon, you can even turn off death! Only thing We really want to see return from the 1st game is the praise and scold buttons in the menu. Other than that, maybe add some special foods for lowering friendship points? Like a negative version of the friendship apple? Maybe a grapefruit instead, since bitter things would certainly lower our friendship if someone fed us one. Keep up the great work!
Also, check out the first Digimon we got to level 100!
So...you liked getting highway robbed just to actually leave the lobby each time? That you couldn't truly just turn off death? That you could basically only have like 12 or so Digimon? No thanks.
I liked the first game but the grind in this one is too much. Worst than next order grind besides have dificulty issues like i fight a digimon at the same level and evolutive level and i lost because my stats are low even if the game doesnt let me train. I think you need to add more ways to get exp like a train that is not blocked by the level cap to only get exp or even increase the exp gained in battle or literally dont limit the trainings. Its just bad that i need to beat 18 lv 6 or 9 rookie digimon to level up 💀.
Loving the game, but the grind is way too much. Like, ENDLESS CHORE too much. I dont have time to be playing this for 4 hours straight only to get minimal significant progress. Can you down the grind so we dont have to put our lives on hold to play this? Lol Maybe an option to make it normal pace as opposed to the standard "Hardcore" difficulty you coded in? Lol
On Android, there's no way to stop the grind unless you root. Also, all mods that mess with speed on Android ruins the sound, as in you can't hear much other than bits and pieces of the music. Game killer is literally a game killer. (Edit: the mods that mess with speed can also actually slow your game down, this happens pretty frequently so it's not worth it.)
The problem is that its ridiculously grindy for not being able to do much to grind. Its way too much of a chore for minimal returns. It ends up being too much work rather than fun. We're not all basement dwellers.
If taking care of a weird pet is enough to be called a basement dweller, I guess pretty much anyone with a dog, cat, or otherwise is a basement dweller now.
You misunderstand. He's saying we have lives with responsibilities - add in the grind/time requirement of this game that we *want* to play and the point of fun flies out the window when it takes us 2 months to make progress.
Fair, but I do hope you all also understand that despite the grind, this is kinda what digimon started out as, a very grindy, very time consuming virtual pet
hi, sorry to ask but I really liked your work creating Digital Tamers: ReBorn and Digital Tamers 2 but I've been wondering for a long time but I had to ask, why don't you add a battle mode with bluetooth to play against friends and it would be more fun because you could even see people making inventions and mittings, holding tournaments and so on...
Here is a list of npc in my city Groundramon / Meramon / Craftmon / Xiquemon / Chikurimon / BlackTailmon / Burgamon / Weddinmon / Wizardmon / Mushroomon
I know I'm parroting what some people have already said before, but DAMN wandering merchants are a horrible addition. Why? I can't get sangomon to appear for some reason and ONLY shortmon is appearing, and it takes an absurd amount of time to even get a wandering merchant to spawn. It's become near impossible to get madicmon because of this, since I only need sangomon left. This also makes it impossible to finish other quests, like kudamon and minomon. Needing RNG npc's to get other npc's is absurd in my opinion, since I've basically been screwed over by the gods of luck. I literally cannot finish server city because only shortmon is appearing.
I'm not saying to completely remove them, but the least that could be done is making it so that you can't get the same wandering merchant twice in a row, which would make it so much easier to complete medicmon, and by extension other npc's.
it's odd because the most recent changelog says that the wandering merchants "rotate" so they don't spawn again once they've spawned once.
but i'm not sure what that means honestly, because i'm having the same issue. i wonder if it's bugged and doesn't work, or maybe you have to stay on one map and cycle through them all to get who you want?
This game is an inspiration for anyone out there looking to make a Digimon fan game, including myself. Just playing a little bit of this game is already motivating me to really work on the Digimon-related things I've had in mind.
The presentation is top notch, and the inclusion of items that come from oddball games like DMO as well as an aesthetic based on, what is in my opinion, one of the more underrated Digimon World games: Championship-- It stole my heart very quickly.
Hopefully I can strive to make something of this level of sheer quality.
There is a bug in the Electric(Violet) mission? which does not appear when entering the region after completing all prerequisite tasks,so i need help!XD
Love the game. It is a GRIND, but imo that captures the soul of Digimon games perfectly, there's always a payoff for the loads of work involved to raise a cool team.
Some suggestions I have though:
Species XP requirements get a little absurd, it'd be nice if there was a way to convert data from Digimon we don't want into the Pastille items that boost the corresponding XP type. Because right now gathering extra data is a bit pointless once you find a Digi with decent stats.
Also I've noticed I've lost quite a few of fights against wild Digimon because even though our levels were close, their stats were completely out of my league. It'd be nice if there was a way to determine a wild Digi's strength based on stat totals instead of just levels. And having a different indicator for their strength relative to your active Digi would make battles make a lot more sense, like changing the color of the scope around the Digimon (red for much stronger, green for weaker, etc.) like in some of the Digimon MMOs.
And a small one would just be so we can just tap to feed our Digimon instead of dragging, it can be a bit wonky.
All in all I think it's a great game! 10/10 for a fan project so far. Almost indistinguishable from an official Digimon game (for all their good and bad points). I'm excited to see what updates bring.
All in all I think it's a great game! 10/10 for a fan project so far. Almost indistinguishable from an official Digimon game (for all their good and bad points). I'm excited to see what updates bring.
I fully agree. Digimon fans are starving for new good games within the franchise
Edit: I mean the official games, that are not necessarily mobile
Thanks for such a great fanproject! I don't mind the grind that much, but it could be toned down a little.
Also: I was able to install this on my HONOR X8a Tablet which runs Android 14 just to check if it would work, and yes it did. Needs more playtesting though.
Is there any item in the game to increase the winning percentage? If so, where can I find him? He lost some battles at the beginning and it became overwhelming to have to reach 99%
if there are, i haven't found any sadly. you might be able to just do challenge mode vs multiple enemies to make the grind go quicker(though i don't know if that counts as a single win or multiple wins)
Game's good, but there's a few weird design choices.
For instance, why do we have to click on a dropped item instead of automatically picking it up? It's needless busy work that you can't even skip because the game doesn't let you. Exp gathering is also pretty wonky. A Champion Digimon will give the same exp as a Rookie of the same level, which hardly makes sense since one is clearly tougher and should be rewarded accordingly. Also, the Digimon data being random drops is irksome because it fills the storage with Digimon I don't want. Easy solution would be to choose which data gets turned into Digimon like it is in most games, or at least any way to cash that data as exp for other Digimon you actually want.
Yes, I think it would make sense clicking in the dropped items if you could chose to let some of them behind, but the game doesn't allow you to end the battle without picking all of them. Ah, but you can eliminate digimon from your storage. Yes, you can, but it feels like a cruel thing to do, it would be better if you could choose to not getting them.
How the hell I can make my digimon stats grow? I know it's by training and leveling, but there's a point that no matter how much levels the Digimon have I can't train him anymore and it keeps showing the message: "level up your digimon and try again" or something like that. There are Digimon that I would like to stay in rookie (like Lucemon), champion and perfect form (HolyAngemon, because Seraphimon's spirtes sucks) and this mechanic is making things hard to those digimon. Is there any item you can feed the digimon to increase stats?
If you’ve reached the level & training cap then you can’t do much else with that digimon other than give it better equipment or apply status effects to attacks.
If you’re really invested you could try the ReBorn mechanic but I haven’t tried it myself so I can’t really give any pointers.
Otherwise just keep it as a favourite in the box and build another digimon.
Whether the sprite sucks or not, HolyAngemon will never be useful to you no matter how much you train. Going from any Ultimate to Mega is a huge stat increase, if you are level 100 any mega of level 60 or higher will murder you.

Is the game compatible with Samsung S24?
I get the message that it isn't compatible when I try to install it, in my device.

I will try it on SteamDeck, and will update you.
Updates: Using Proton 9.0-3, I did not find any issue initially, will need to extend the testing further more.

Gave it a slice of cake to celebrate.
My digimon died
Lezgoo
the previous version is better
So...you liked getting highway robbed just to actually leave the lobby each time? That you couldn't truly just turn off death? That you could basically only have like 12 or so Digimon? No thanks.
Then go play the original version?
I liked the first game but the grind in this one is too much. Sounds like a whole lot of skill issue
Sounds like you're a jobless trash with no better use of your time
I really wish there was an option to pay more (maybe 10 times more) for some better chance or quantity of items fetched by mons in town.
It is a useless grind to pay 1000 bits, wait 15 minutes to get almost nothing.
Add the option to give 50k bits for triple the items, it would be balanced and fair.
Yes, still trying to get a walking stick from snimon

use cheat engine to increase speed (the grind is still kinda long)
On Android?

Complaining about grinding, in a franchise where the entire premise is taking care of your world ending pet so it grows big and strong.. Lol.
The problem is that its ridiculously grindy for not being able to do much to grind. Its way too much of a chore for minimal returns. It ends up being too much work rather than fun. We're not all basement dwellers.

The game froze my entire PC and I had to force shutdown by power button. Now when I try to continue I get the following error and the game crashes:

I was scrolling the area Jagged Rocks when the error occurred. Playing on PC v1.0.2.
Any chance this could get fixed with the next release?
Hold blue emergency load button in that one menu with new game and continue
It's on down right of screen
Wow that was a quick reply, thx!
hi, sorry to ask but I really liked your work creating Digital Tamers: ReBorn and Digital Tamers 2 but I've been wondering for a long time but I had to ask, why don't you add a battle mode with bluetooth to play against friends and it would be more fun because you could even see people making inventions and mittings, holding tournaments and so on...
I think it's because you need money to run a server and as a fan game that isn't exactly easy to do (only speculation correct me if I'm wrong)
Please help me I have a feeling my game might have a bug
I have completed almost all quests but Ludomon and Publimon quests won't spawn
My Tamers level is 100 and I have cleared all the challenges.
The last NPCs encountered were Wizardmon and Mushroomon
After that, I didn't see any more NPC
Help me please
have you built kuwagamon's shop yet?
I got it long ago
Here is a list of npc in my city Groundramon / Meramon / Craftmon / Xiquemon / Chikurimon / BlackTailmon / Burgamon / Weddinmon / Wizardmon / Mushroomon
Where's medicmon and supplemon, there's more quest to do
Digitamamon also
I don't see them spawn
Medicmon's quest requires Ludomon's quest to be completed first
I didn't find Ludomon
And there's MetalTyranomon too
I think you need more wins
I have up to 10K, is that not enough?
Yes
No, it's definitely enough.
How to unlock the central hospital
When wiIl the dev fix 32 bit compatibility, I can't reach wave 30 in tower bc it's keep crashing and I lose my progress. (Not only in tower)
Although Seraphimon and Sakuyamon's sprites are shit as f..., the new Myotismon, Lucemon FM and Lilithmon are so awesome! I'm in love with them.
Now that is a good sprite! Its from the vital bracelet.
And that is the actual one
Well, We like the way it looks.
This is going to sound stupid, but... what's wrong with the Seraphimon sprite?
I figured out the best starting Digimon is of Machine or Beast attribute. Those are the most easy to farm and evolve at the start.
EDIT: Noticed the game had a fullscreen option when starting and it fixed the issue.
Hello, can you make the click button to open items menu (where you have food, clean and play stuff) bigger?
I can't click the menu in my android phone (Huawei P smart+ 2019, EMUI 12.0.0).
Now my digimon is starving XD.
I know I'm parroting what some people have already said before, but DAMN wandering merchants are a horrible addition. Why? Yes, Sangomon never appeared to me after I unlocked him
This is pretty fun, I not only got off of Retomon a few months ago.
This had my attention since the youtube trailer
I am trying the android version to see how it works on my phone and all is good.If i change the phone? How can i move the save file?can make a video?
I need to know that too, my main phone is old and I need a new one but I don't want to lose my game progress.
try go to file/android/data and transfer file of com.dragonrodgames.digitaltamers02 to your new phone.
idk if this still work on this game.
This is just great !
Thanks for ure work, very nice game.
Is it possible to make window resizing keep the correct aspect ratio?

What does Craftmon need in the Machine Plant? Do I need to get to a certain point? His dialogue doesn't make it clear.

battle items are key, you get a lot of them by summoning them with the chips in the lure slot
